Your road trip begins in elegant San Sebastián. Start the day with a stroll along the iconic Playa de la Concha, wander through the lively lanes of the Parte Vieja, and take in spectacular views from the summits of Monte Igueldo and Monte Urgull. Then set off on an unforgettable drive along the wild, rugged coastline. Following the scenic N634 via Igeldo, you’ll pass through charming fishing villages. Soak up the maritime atmosphere in Orio, pause in the surfer’s haven of Zarautz, and sample the local Txakoli wine in the picture-perfect town of Getaria. Continuing via Arroa Bekoa and Deba, you’ll approach the dramatic Flysch cliffs. Be sure to stop in Zumaia to admire the striking rock formations of Playa de Itzurun and the historic San Telmo Chapel. The journey winds along the twisting GI-638 and BI-3438 to the authentic fishing harbour of Ondarroa, before reaching your final stop: the picturesque Lekeitio. Lekeitio - Bilbao
After the picturesque town of Lekeitio, follow the BI-2238 inland towards historic Guernica (Gernika-Lumo), a place of deep significance for the Basque people. Continue your journey along the BI-2235 through the breathtaking Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of exceptional natural beauty. Here, you can enjoy wetlands rich in birdlife. Along the way, you’ll arrive at the lively fishing town of Bermeo, where you can soak up the authentic atmosphere of the Basque coast. Bilbao - Logroño

You then leave the city’s urban splendour behind, following the N634 and N240. In Vitoria-Gasteiz (Gasteiz), the green capital of the Basque Country, visit the impressive Cathedral of Santa María, discover art at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Álava, and relax in the beautiful Parque de la Florida. The journey continues south into the heart of the famous Rioja Alavesa wine region. Stop in the medieval walled town of Laguardia, with its panoramic views over the vineyards. Logroño - Pamplona
This stage begins in Logroño, the vibrant capital of La Rioja. Start your day exploring the renowned Calle del Laurel, a paradise for tapas lovers. Immerse yourself in wine culture at Bodegas Franco-Españolas and admire the imposing Co-Cathedral of Santa María de la Redonda. Continue along the River Ebro, passing through charming places such as Recajo, Ausejo and historic Calahorra, where Tierra Rapaz makes for an enjoyable stop. Following the NA-134, the route takes you past Milagro and Cadreita towards the rugged beauty of the Bardenas Reales near Arguedas. This semi-desert landscape, with its striking rock formations, is an absolute highlight. The journey then heads north, stopping at the fairy-tale town of Olite with its royal palace – a perfect photo opportunity.
